Welcome to Sahara Rehab!

I hope that our team of practitioners will have the opportunity to help you meet your goals of rehabilitation and recovery.

I had the privilege of completing my degree at Oxford Brookes University in the UK, which provided me with extensive opportunities to work in several countries, including the UK, Botswana, and Canada. The skills that I have learned, as well as, being able to understand different cultures and religions, have allowed me to adopt a holistic approach in my practice. I founded Sahara Rehab in 2010 with the goal of helping people get better following traumatic events in their lives.

I am passionate about helping people and really take pride in supporting my rehabilitation team. I strive towards constant learning and development as a professional but am highly aware of the importance of personal and professional reflection to ensure that I can provide optimal support to my clients.

Over the years I have completed various workshops to increase my skill set in the areas of TBI and Concussion Management, as well as chronic conditions and disability management. I use AMPS as a core OT assessment but have developed skills with an increased focus on mental health, recognizing this as a growing need in our society. I have completed training in PGAP, CBT, Anxiety and Stress management, Motivational Interviewing, and more recently a workshop in Trauma and Impact on Occupational Performance.

To restore balance in my own life, I love to travel and explore different countries and cultures. I practice yoga, meditation, and Reiki. I love to be creative in the kitchen and walk my dog, which helps to ground me.

As an OT and an individual, I believe in the value of engagement in occupation, which is fundamental to our profession.
