Occupational Therapist Job Description

Sahara Rehab Consulting is offering full-time and part-time contracting opportunities working as a community-based Occupational Therapist.

We are a mobile rehab company that has been established for over 8 years, and that is growing to meet the needs of individuals with various medical conditions and disabilities, including brain injuries, soft tissue & orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, and mental health issues. Rehabilitation services are provided to clients in their homes, community centers, and/or their respective workplace.

We offer extensive support to our therapists through our mentorship program, and there are opportunities for flexible work hours and reduced caseloads.

As an OT with Sahara Rehab, your responsibilities and duties will be to:

  • Provide assessments and treatment to a wide variety of clients with varying needs, including those with chronic and/or mental health conditions.

  • Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments, functional ability evaluations, insurer examinations, ergonomic assessments, client education, and job coaching, as required.

  • Coordinate the return to work process with all stakeholders in a timely way, ensuring a smooth transition into the workplace.

  • Work closely with the team and other resources to develop new programs to meet identified client needs.

  • Perform regular and timely charting, reporting, and communication.

  • Demonstrate the ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Masters in Occupational Therapy.

  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.

  • Good communication and report writing skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiasm for clients with complex challenges.

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

Remuneration

This is based on the level of experience and whether the candidate is working full-time or part-time hours.
