Physiotherapist

Marilyn Araujo

Marilyn received her Bachelor of Physical Therapy in 2005 and a Bachelor in Human Kinetics in 2002 both from the University of British Columbia. She has received her Acupuncture training with the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation Institute and is certified with the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association and PWR certified with Parkinson's Wellness and Recovery Organization.

She is also fluent in Spanish. Marilyn strongly believes in working with a team to help patients get back to functional independence. She is a strong believer in continuing education and has been active in taking courses to further her knowledge for the last 16 years. This year she was also involved in being a teaching assistant with the Neurology Course for Physiotherapy students at UBC. She has worked in acute hospital and outpatient settings with a current focus on working with individuals coping with neurological conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson’s, ALS, and MS.

When she isn’t running around with her two young boys Marilyn enjoys staying active by exercising and exploring all that the Lower Mainland has to offer in the outdoors.

Catherine

Catherine graduated from McGill University in 2015 and has been working as a physiotherapist in both acute care and public healthcare settings. Through this profession, she finds joy in helping individuals help themselves by learning about the value of exercise and the body's potential for better performance and well-being. With Sahara Rehab, Catherine is grateful for the opportunity to assist clients in their journey to recovery.

When not at work, Catherine is probably training for a race, practicing a musical instrument, or sleeping.

She is fluent in French and speaks some Cantonese and basic Mandarin.

Hilda Boer

Hilda is a physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience. She graduated from Brazil and has been living and working in Canada since 2007.

Hilda is a skilled physiotherapist with extensive experience treating people suffering from physical problems arising from injury, disease, illness, and aging. She strongly encourages her clients to be proactive in their treatments to restore function in the case of a temporary or permanent injury or disease, lessen the effects of any dysfunction through personalized treatment.

Hilda believes that improving quality of life through education, coaching and a personalized exercise routine are important steps for her clients to achieve meaningful goals and independence.
